From mystic to skeptic Cheers to all the people who can change their minds when presented with information that contradicts their beliefs. |
Hi there and welcome!
I am an international documentary film maker. I write, direct and produce films that are mainly focused on critical thinking, metacognition and humour to assist others in the transition from believer to thinker. I also host a radio show in NY on WBAI 99.5FM and I am the President of 'Centre for Inquiry' Vancouver. I am best known as a former spiritual leader who has transitioned into a skeptic after realizing how that route was encouraging gullibility and causing psychological harm. After fifteen years on the ‘New Age metaphysical path’, I renounced it. Now I speak publicly about my story, I have spoken at Universities on the importance of rational thinking and in sharing my story in a playful yet profound way. I provide an understanding of the patterns of how ideologies work in our mind and how to avoid the pit falls. I am also love to write, I have been told that I am a prolific writer that provides an inside-look at the consequences of letting your beliefs think for you. If you are curious about my work feel free to check out my Bali Blog series and youtube videos where I go into detail on my journey from a mystic to a skeptic. I am currently making a feature documentary film based off of my popular Bali Blog journal series, titled 'Memoirs of a Former Mystic: Caution too much love and light will make you sick!'. It will provide a unique and playful insight about my personal journey, through which you will discover what led me from being a shy girl to a public figure on the spiritual scene. But most of all, you will find out about the challenges I had to face and the realizations that were required to successfully overcome and question critically the beliefs that were once so near and dear to me. Feel free to contact me if you would like to do one on one coaching with me. I also am available to speak at events and interviews. If you would like to know more about me, my work and journey, I will be more than glad to answer any questions you may have. I look forward to hearing from you. |
